Mountain Tourism Fresko Community
Community Manifesto, Terms of Participation and Privacy Policy
Mountain Tourism Fresko is a climate-education workshop for tourism stakeholders in the Alps. It helps participants understand the relationships between the causes and effects of climate change and supports the creation of locally relevant adaptation and mitigation solutions.
The facilitator community exists to strengthen this work through shared learning, coordination and responsible exchange.
This page contains three separate elements:
- The Community Manifesto, which describes our shared culture and commitments.
- The Terms of Participation, which establish the rules for using the community space.
- The Privacy Policy, which explains how personal data is collected, used, shared and protected.
Agreeing to the Community Manifesto and Terms of Participation is separate from reading the Privacy Policy and from giving optional consent.

Community Manifesto
Our purpose
We are a community of people who facilitate the Mountain Tourism Fresko and support alpine destinations in responding to climate change.
We connect climate knowledge, local experience and collective intelligence so that tourism stakeholders can understand climate impacts, question assumptions and move towards fair, resilient and low-carbon futures.
Our shared promise
We create a trusted space where accredited facilitators can learn from one another, share their practice responsibly and turn climate knowledge into locally meaningful action.
Our shared principles
- Climate integrity: We treat climate change as a material challenge for mountain regions and distinguish evidence from opinion.
- Local relevance : We adapt facilitation to the ecological, cultural, social and economic realities of each destination.
- Collective intelligence: We create conditions in which participants can think together, contribute different forms of knowledge and build shared ownership of solutions.
- Inclusion and respect: We welcome diverse perspectives and reject harassment, discrimination, intimidation and demeaning behaviour.
- Learning over performance: We share questions, mistakes and lessons honestly. Accreditation is a responsibility to keep learning, not a claim to have every answer.
- Practical agency: We connect understanding to feasible action while avoiding simplistic promises and greenwashing.
- Care for people and place : We recognise unequal climate impacts, protect psychological safety and avoid extractive approaches to communities and local knowledge.
- Transparency: We disclose relevant interests, partnerships, funding and uncertainties that could affect how our work is understood.
How we collaborate
Members of the community agree to:
Ask before sharing another person’s story, contact information, photograph, recording or workshop contribution.
Credit the people and organisations whose ideas, methods and materials we use.
State whether shared resources may be reused, adapted or redistributed.
Respect any licence or restriction attached to shared material.
Use community channels for learning, coordination and peer support.
Avoid mass promotion, unrelated recruitment and persistent unsolicited sales contact.
Challenge ideas constructively and focus on evidence and impact rather than attacking individuals.
Protect workshop participants and avoid uploading participant lists, sensitive notes or identifiable workshop outputs without an approved basis and appropriate notice.
Responsible use of member information
Member profiles and contact details are provided to support the Mountain Tourism Fresko facilitator community. They are not a commercial directory.
Members must:
Use another member’s details only for relevant facilitator collaboration, peer learning, coordination or support.
Not scrape, copy, export, publish, forward or build mailing lists from the member directory.
Not send marketing or fundraising messages without the recipient’s separate agreement.
Respect requests not to be contacted.
Use the least intrusive contact channel available.
Report suspected misuse, unauthorised access or incorrectly published information to ELLA promptly.
Accountability and repair
Concerns should be raised early and handled fairly. Depending on the seriousness and circumstances, ELLA may use clarification, facilitated dialogue, a warning, content removal, temporary restriction, suspension or termination. Immediate protective action may be taken where safety, privacy, security or legal compliance is at risk.
Members will normally have a reasonable opportunity to understand and respond to a decision, unless doing so would create additional risk, interfere with an investigation or conflict with a legal duty.
Retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith is not acceptable.

ELLA aims to provide a useful and secure community space but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that all member-contributed information is complete or accurate.
Members remain responsible for their professional decisions, workshop delivery and compliance with the laws and contractual obligations that apply to them.
